You can listen to an audio tape of a GP9, a GP7 and an F3 and can tell which one is which by the sound. Same for E7s and E8s.

...you can tell the difference between a N&W whistle and a Milwaukee road whistle.
...you can tell an E-unit from an F-unit by just listening to the engine.(F has 1 engine; E has 2)
...you memorized the entire roster of your favorite railroad.
...you can tell an EMD from a GE by listening to the air horn.
...you will never get over IC scrapping their U33C's on 5/18/84
...you know the exact date IC scrapped their U33C's
