My wife got me a Norfolk Southern 20th Anniversary book that was given to the employees. We got it at the big flea market that was held in Lucasville, Ohio last weekend. Although I am an L&N and CSX fan it was an awesome gift.

The Great Book of Trains, by Brian Hollingsworth and Arthur Cook, with 160 full color illustrations and 500 photographs, covers 310 locomotives from the world over. Lots of really good photos.
Stay Frosty,

I got nothing in the way of train gifts. My family knows better. They figure (correctly) that the best thing they can do is present opportunities for train-watching. Of course, I had to work today, so I got to watch plenty of freight cars.

As for me, I got exactly what I wanted and one thing I liked but did not expect. I got a big kiss from my wonderful wife, an old Van Johnson movie (Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo) from my son and they both smiled and said "have fun" when I mentioned going out for a few hours to watch trains (then I came home to a wonderful dinner and a quiet evening at home). Now, for me that's a great fathers day!

This year my wife and kids treated me to a ride on the Algoma Central's Agawa Canyon Tour. Well, that is, they would have had it ran once we got there.

I agree, gift suggestions with a train theme are always welcome. We get enough catalogs at home, though, that there really isn't a lack of possibilities, just motivation.
