And that will do it, there, CSX.
Did we mention we are getting a trip together, for the people here who are tired of the twerps?
Check out the "deal" offered, we dont want to leave anyone behind, well , except the twins.
Would like another seasoned hogger up front, we plan on running all the way across the district, even going to get to Canada, and could use all the help we can get. Besides, Jenny said shes going to help with the barbque, Mikes bringing cheese, Tims getting the peppers, (hot sauce from chicago?) and Kev is going to be the conductor, J wants to show him the automatic brake valve.
I am bringing the ribs and briskit, maybe even some home made deer sausage.
Besides, most important of all, If you quit, they win by default. I thinks that their intent in the first place, to drive people away.
And your too smart to let such tiny, narrow minds influnce you, right?
So, wanna go for a ride?
Hope to see you onboard,
Stay Frosty,
The Unihead Ed
(really does sound like I should start a cult with that)

I have gained a lot of knowledge from you and would hate to see you leave. I hope you will reconsider and stay with us. It is all just garbage and hopefully the garbage men will come by soon and take it away. Otherwise, we will just have to work around it. But would really like to see you stay out there for advice.

CSX ENGINEER,

I forget where I first encountered this, or when. It is a quote in pseudo-latin "Illigitimae non Carburundum" translation is "DON'T let the bastards wear you down".
Just ignore them. Most important lesson to be learned in life.

CSX,
Here something my dad handed me when I was a young unihead.
He didnt know who the author was, and I havent been able to find out either, but the message has served me well.

Face it,
Nobody owes you a living.
What you achive,
or fail to achive in life,
is directly related to what you do,
or fail to do.

No one choses their parents or childhood,
but you can choose your own direction.
Everyone has obstacles to overcome,
but that too,
is relative to each individual.

Nothing is carved in stone.

You can change anything in your life,
if you want to badly enough.
Excuses are for losers,
Thoses who take responsibility for their actions
are the real winners in life.
Winners meet lifes challenges head on,
knowing there are no guarantees,
and give it all they've got.
And never think it's too late,
or too early to begin,
time plays no favorites,
it will pass you by,
whether you act or not.

Take control of your life.

Dare to dream and take risks...
Compete.
If you aren't willing to work for your goals,
Don't expect others to.

Believe in yourself.

Ed, If you're going to be a cult, you need a compound. Can you imagine the news media reporting about doings at the "Highly Mortgaged Three Bedroom Unihead Splitlevel". "Unihead Compound near Houston" sound so much more authentic...

Jen, You nailed it. Just about 40 miles south of San Francisco. Not too far from as west as one can get in the lower 48. Cape Mendocino, a couple hundred miles up the coast, is the "Westest" place in the U.S. Not counting Alaska and Hawaii, of course.

Actually, its a single level brick and wood frame late 1940s GI bill pesudo ranch box thing.
But compound does sound more mysterious and sinister, so lets use that.
Did you read about the train we are getting together? If you want, deal yourself in, we are going to ride to canada to get kev, and then where ever we decide from there, and eat till we explode, so come on...

Does have that ring to it, but where ever it came from, for me at least, it been a truth to follow, and a guide to how I face most things, and it has worked great.

I agree; these railfan forums can be pretty silly. However, if you don't want to post anymore then don't. Why make a federal case about it? Just take it off your Favorites list.

is that the way?.... Mr. CSX? to just... give up??

wow.. man when i tohught i had it tough in school... did i ever give up? NO! i stuck to my guns and continued...

When i thought i had it tough here with Ed and Ken (no offence Ed or Ken, your great guys) hassling em about my automatic brake valve, did i give up and leave here? no.

When i'm having relationship problems (we've all been there at one point) did i jsut give up and walk away. Sure, it would of been easier to turn my back on my problems and walk out and pretend that everything is "oh so great and charming," but did walk out? NO.. Every problem had a solution, certain problems require digging deeper, but the question.. Did i give up? NO!

Sure life has its challenges.. but do i give up... NO

actually i've never given up on anyhting in my entire life.. Giving up is easy, just like answering I don't know.. it requires little or no thought pattern whatsoever

Now.. I, Kevin, Am asking you.. are you giving up on this place? ARE you Giving in to one of life's challenges? Are you throwing in the towel? Have tweedle dumb and tweedle dee caused this much agony in you?

I don't know one Engineer who would answer yes to any of those questions i jsut asked.. i wouldn't.. my collegues wouldn't.. and i hope you don't .. Engineers neevr give up on anyhting

Mr CSX engineer, hence engineer is even in your name.. why are you giving up?

Giveing up and quitting is so easy.. it requires an iq of less then 10 to say I don't know.. and i quit.. it requires a man and a high IQ to say.. screw you, you can't shake me.

kev.
