Use caution on this forum
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, May 20, 2003 3:02 AM
Although I said I would boycott posting On this forum for a week, the posts of a certain few forces me to ask caution.

To all RR'ers: My gut feeling is that the inflammatory posts of certain individuals is to rile us up. Our responses may be used against us. This is what they want. They could present our replies in court and, not having a jury of "our peers", use certain statements to persuade what would certainly be an OJ jury.

I wi***he forum admin. would nut up and bar these interlopers and their agendas. Where are you Kalmbach?

This forum is for entertainment, not abuse by those who would pass personal responsibility to others.

To all railfans:

I hope you keep your questions coming and enjoy what this forum was originally designed for. Also, don't take the bait that the personal injury lawyers are trying to set. That is to say, don't try to argue with them--just ignore them.

To everyone: don't reply to certain individuals--we know which ones.

As for the FRA being in the RR's back pocket, I needed a good laugh!!!!

And that drivel about lowering train speeds? That statement would put us out of business! They'll have no one to sue but truckers, fast food restaurants, automakers, Oreo, and probably their grandmothers.

the just of the matter is they have no idea what they are talking about. the stuff they say is just that chicken stuff. there are places on are railroad where we have been slowed down becouse of drivers like they are trying to defend after we complained about idoit drivers the rail slowed us down , thats not the problem the problem is that after a few days of seeing us go slower they close calls increased. it seems that they didnt want to wait 30 sec for you to clear the tracks before the speed was dropped they diffently dont want to wait 2 min now. so it goes on and on.

Do you remember Bob Newhart's routine about the infinite number of monkeys set at typewriters who would eventually write all the great books, (and a lot of nonsense too)? The last line was "To be or not to be, that is the gzordensplt."
The internet is an infinite number of monkeys at keyboards.
And I'm one of them.

I DO remember Newhart's routine about this, and it never ceases to amaze me what all us monkeys (and I include myself also) at keyboards are doing. If the people that abuse this forum are allowed to continue the abuse, then Kalmbach will have to shut this down.
I am here to talk about trains, share funny experiences, and have fun. Period.

CSX Engineer.
My main interests are the C&O, and any Michigan railroad. Do you have any expertise here?

The Pensy, Conrail, and CSX are all Michigan roads. The first trains I saw were Conrail and GTW. I used to think all locomotives were blue! My uncle would take me down to the rail yards in Battle Creek and we would watch them switch. I could see the yard from my Aunts house, but my mom would never let me investigate, The B&0 is a great railroad, but never made it to Michigan.
Thanks for the reply

Its only trains guys! Words can only get you riled up if you let them, and respond to them. The B&O did make it to Michigan, in a way. They ran passenger trains up from Toledo for years over the NYC, into Michigan Central Station in Detroit. The Cinncinatian was the most famous one.
