looking for a web site

Was wondering if anyone knew of a good web site where I could find all exsisting rail road tracks in Ontario. The CN and CP site where not that great. I want to look at a whole overview of the province.

check with your province gov't.they might have good information for you.The gov't needs to know where the tracks are too in case of a derailment etc.I don't know if either railroad has a histoeical society but it would be worth checking.

Since this discussion is concerning websites, I have run into a little situation I hope maybe someone can help me out with. I have a copy of "Ghost railroads of Kentucky" and it does not include the abandonment of the C&O line from Winchester KY to Ashland KY. This occurred around 1985 with the forming of CSX. Is there a website that contains abandoned RR's(maybe by state) or pictures maybe of what the line was when it had the trains running.

To the person wanting the info. on the CN and CP existing tracks you may want to try and locate their historical society and they may have maps they have published. The L&N historical society has books on each particular line. It is more of a geographical grid that shows elevations but they do have some photos as well. They have the railroad outlined and also pages with yards and depots. Good Luck in your search.
