I wonder if it says anything about MoW crews.  Something along the lines of, "God please don't let any maintenance crews call me.  They're so annoying they way they beg for some time to do their jobs so that might my job might be a little easier..."

Pretty neat!  Seems appropriate for locomotive crews as well.

Do any of you remember a piece of verse called "the dispatcher's prayer" ?

It appeared (if memory serves me correctly) in "Railroad Magazine" sometime in the late 50's/early 60's.

The last verse ran (I believe) -
"May the lights stay green tonight
with a meet or a pass for all,
Until the home yard light
Flashes the last highball."
