Scanners
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 5:51 PM
I hear a lot about them, and that they are very useful, but the question is how and where do i go about getting a scanner? I'm prepared to put the money out, I just can't seem to find them anywhere. Someone out there must know. any help would be apreciated.
Thanks,
kev.

Greetings,
Well there are several places to start. Radio Shack does carry scanners at there stores and on their webpage. There is also a mail order place called Scanner World (they usually have an ad in TRAINS magazine)that has a webpage where a scanner and accesories can be purchased. Good Luck in your purchase.

Be aware Scanner World has a very short time return policy if you buy anything from them. I ordered a replacement nicad battery pack for my scanner, and it went bad a week after I received it. They wouldn't take it back and replace it. They told me to take it up with the manufacturer, and I had a hard time trying to get the manufacturer's correct address. As things turned out the manufacturer sent me a new nicad battery pack free of charge, without my having to send them the defective one, and no questions asked. Radio Shack has a more equitable return policy.
