Has anyone seen Herzog Hy-rail/railflaw equipment out on the road or yard ?

Why? .... It's all the former Santa Fe equipment that's been sold to Herzog since the early '90's....

Yeah, that's why most of our M.O.W. guys are cut off and in the soup lines half of the year. The carrier is farming all of this work out to scab outfits!

I knew an engineer on the GTW by the name of Herzog back in the 1980's. I think it was Dan. I wonder if it could be the same guy?

The Herzog in question is a major construction and engineering firm based in St. Louis ,MO. They are active in a variety of heavy construction projects nationwide, including railroad and transit work. They've been around for many years, so it's doubtful that the GTW trainman is a relation. Check out the website at www.herzog.com.
Those of you who follow NASCAR racing might have heard of the company, a subsidiary is very active in the sport(as a team owner not a sponsor).
Up here in Southern New England I've seen MOW equipment from Herzog competirors Loram and Georgetown Rail, but not from Herzog itself. The pics I've seen of their self propelled ballast and ditching trains are impressive.
