Ruh Roh! [:)] Looks like I'll be digging through books again, to satisfy my curiosity. We just had a thread about a coal fired turbine locomotive. It was on an eastern coal road, and now I can't remember which one (N&W?). Was there just 2 steam turbines being worked on, or did other roads look into it?

Oh, I should have known Railfan. I picked them up at the time....thought they were pretty good. I remember the article they did on O Winston Link and how the re-created a night shot somewhere out east.

Well, murphy, we got 2 of them! They are former C&NW,now painted for Metra and may be repainted. We have already run them a few times and man do they look good!!

Apparently, on Dec 2:

No trains derailed
No stikes broke out
No mergers failed
No railroads were taken over in a hostile takeover
No famous passenger trains were discontinued

Basically, it was a pretty good, allthough somewhat day in railroad history.
