Thanks Ed! The only thing I can think of regarding the truck graphics is much the same reason that I like certain freight cars: paint. If the paint scheme looks nice, I like it!!!

I think all three ended up on Montana Rail Link... Sure enough, 1001-1003 became MRL 391-393, although 393 went to the IMRL for a while. They sure looked awesome in WSOR colors though!

Thanks very much guys. I really appreciate the tips. Hopefully I'll have some luck. Its been a long, long time since I've had a chance to stop down at Horicon.

The last time was back when WSOR had those F / FP - 45's (1000 - 1003 perhaps?)

What ever became of those?

I can tell you what I have observed get you started at least....

It seems like the HOK(the Horicon Oshko***rain) tends to run North in the Morning, South in the mid to later afternoon, depending on traffic. I'd say on average from the few times I've seen it, it seems like they hit Ripon WI at about 10:00 or so. But according to a friend, they can be anywhere between 800 and 1300 into Ripion. Apparently it is usually a Monday to Friday Job, but with the occasional Saturday run.

There is at least one person on there who can Answer your HOK questions, and probably a few who can help with the HM question.

I can't really tell you what the operations are like north of Horicon -- you might want to check the WSOR Yahoo!Group though...

The HM, on the other hand, usually leaves Horicon early in the morning. (I recently heard of an 0400 start.) I recently caught them switching the Ackerville CN interchange around 0930 (Click here), and chased them as far as Germantown. They interchange with UP and their own ML (Milwaukee Local) at Granville, and you can get some interesting pictures from the Brown Deer Road/WIS-100 bridge. After working Granville, they head back north.

Good Morning,
Although Trains ran a fairly good article on WSOR recently, it didn't have much detail on daily ops. One of these weekdays and hopefully soon, I hope to burn a vacation day and go do some photography on WSOR.

Does anyone have any details on the frequency / time of day, that WSOR operates between Horicon and Ripon / Oshkosh as well as when they go from Horicon to Slinger and Milwaukee?
