SOX WIN WORLD SERIES!
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 11:14 PM
One to zip with no extra innings right at 11:00 p.m. Less than ten minutes since they won I heard fireworks from three different places in my neighborhood.

They took the pennant in 1959, but this is the first Series win since 1917!!! TV says that was the year Walt Disney was born!

Sorry, don't mean to troll but in addition to FOX, which carried the game, ABC, CBS, NBC, WGN and UPN stations all broke in the news, most doing a live remote. One guy used the "f' (ing) word on TV. (Altho' the game was played in Houston, fans were converging on Cellular Field here in Chgo to celebrate. Just hope they don't tear the place down!).

Congratulations White Sox and fans.......

Although I am somewhat bummed (okay ..alot) by my Astros performance, the series had some really good play. I was happy to see the Astros finally make it to a series. I was also happy to see the White Sox get a win after so many years....well happy as I can be given the match up.

Congrats......celebrate.......pop a cold one.....

only a few short months to spring training.......

Even though the White Sox beat my Sox they were my pick for winning after Boston. There was a trend with 3wild card teams in a row winning, lets hope that next year will be the third year in arow that a team that hasn't won in a long time wins.GO CUBS!!!!!

Yes, and another one for the record books--let's see if I get the phrasing right--I heard on TV last night that in the history of MLB and World Series, only the White Sox cinched the "hat trick" of division, league and series with games won entirely on the road. I think that means that the winning fourth of seven or whatever were all run on the road. Obviously the Sox won contributing games here in Chicago at Cellular Field.

Did I get it right?

Go AWAY Cubs!

A more elitist, obnoxious, arrogant, group of people has never been gathered than the Chicago Cubs and their fans.

The White Sox took it in four straight. And farmer03 can't say a good word about it. Cubs fans are evil.

I'm just your average, everyday, uncivilized howling "anti-government" critic of mass government expenditures for "High Speed Rail" in the US. And I'm gosh darn proud of that.

I don't know. Having to put up with this kind of celebration every 88 years is more than I can handle.

Last Year, the Red Sox Won thier first world series since 1918, now the Chicago White Sox won their first since 1917!

*** HUSTON! They beat us Cardinals!

At least that last home run in Game 5 led to the final game to ever be played at Busch Stadium....That stadium is already gutted, the wrecking ball is coming in on monday.
