I have noticed that some people have train gif animations on their signature, and I was wondering how you do that..

Thanks

Yea, go to a site that has train gifs like:

http://cencalrails.railfan.net/rrgifs.html

or

http://www.frograil.com/gifs/fallenFlagsMtoZ/sp.htm

Then pick what you want by right clicking on the image, then select PROPERTIES and cut and paste the URL to your sig. Then add [ img] before and [ /img] after the URL in your sig.

Repeat the process for each additional loco or car.

You REALLY REALLY SHOULD download them and put them on your own server.

It is considered REALLY rude to link to somone elses server the way you just did , some folks consider it stealing

It's not that, it's a matter of being a good netizen.

Linking to somone elses server is like borrowing their car without asking, and returning it with the tank dry

This site filters the < move>< /move> and < marquee>< /marquee> HTML tags that work on other sites, so you have to be more creative, and use gif animation software to create a completely self contained animated gif image that you can embed using the standard IMG tags permitted here.

You are going to need some form of image editing software to "build" the train with, something like Adobe Photoshop, or paint shop pro, or similar. Then it's just a matter of finding the images you want to string together,

If those are on the web then you right click on them, select "Save as? and make sure you see and remember exactly where in your machine the images are being saved to.

Then, use your graphics application to copy all those individual images into one new image, make sure you make the background for all cars the same color and save that new composite image as a *.gif image specifying the common background color as transparent.

Then upload that new image to an inage hosting service, and link to it here using the image tag
