From the maps I've seen, all of the damaged areas (and there are quite a few) are in Kansas. I'm not sure why St. Louis was mentioned, except that a lot of traffic using those lines goes through KC and on through St. Louis as well.

UP does have a way to get around this mess--just don't know how many additonal trains those lines (via Omaha to KC) could handle.

And, according to the update I got, most of the lines should be open to traffic (slightly different than fully repairing the lines, admittedly) by now, with the line east of Topeka (on which two bridges were washed out) reopened later today.

At least the bears are getting easy acces to the alcahol. Besides who is going to tella 1500 lb grizzley you have had enough to drink.[:D]

Ouch that one is going to hurt one week to get the lines repaired. I would not want to be a crew van on that one once they get it running again.
