It has been a bad week for the Canadian Pacific in Southeast Wisconsin. Since things like this seem to happen in "3's" hopefully it is over for now.

Well it get's worse, there have been a total of three in the time of a few days. Here's a few links:

The first two:

Village of Pewaukee, Tuesday:

And the third:

Hopefully all those links work.

Today's paper makes clear what I suspected from the news report: evidently it was suicide by train. The guy used a vehicle that had been parked in his front yard for some time. He lived next to the tracks. He basically parked the vehicle on the tracks and waited. So now a train crew has to live with this memory.

Apparently it was at the intersection of South Street and Concord Street in Oconomowoc, WI . I believe that would be the CP line. There was one fatality, I believe the driver of the van died at the scene.

From what I quickly saw roll by the bottom of a newscast, it was in Oconomowoc WI. I didn't see any other details though. I'm trying to find out more, if I do, I'll let you know.

Train, car accident in wisconsin today

I just read that a car was struck by a train today here in wisconsin. I really dont know the details but. My guess would be that some one tried to beat the train acroos the tracks and they got hit. Now when are people going to learn about Railroad crossing safety. Maybe all of the railroads should put in steel gates at all of the crossings so no one can go around the gates until the train passes but then again that may never happen. If anyone has any other info on this just pass it on or if they think of any other things railroads should do just pass it on
