What signal system do railroads use?

I know there are different types of systems. I just want to find out which railroads use what system.

If you download the various big RR's 2004 annual reports, they will usually tell how many miles they have under CTC, how much under ABS (auto. block system) and how many under some kind of manual control. Some url's I know by heart are bnsf.com; uprr.com, cpr.ca.com (CP, note Canadian web address) and nscorp.com.

I'm not sure you asked this, but for an overview of how it works (including a couple of real life examples), go to the Trains homesite (the one with the red links on the left margin. Go to "All About Railroads," then "ABC's of Railroading," then "Railroad Signals." Very informative!
