Yes they do. www.nscorp.com

Great site. You can view all their previous commercials too. I like the point of view one from 2003. Like riding in the cab!

Good to hear from Rochester. Used to live in Webster, then in Palmyra, right near the CSX main line.
One can see NS effort to make their intermodal trains more profitable. Not just coal anymore. Interesting, and nice to see trains get out advertising.

Did see a NS ad on CNN the other week but the only train ads I've seen on FOX are those on the GE locos.

Yes you are correct the containter has to touch the bed or chassis of a truck sometime. The container also has to touch the floor of a freighter (container hauler) and, somtimes maybe the container will get to see the bottom of the ocean depending if it falls of the barge during the long jorney over seas. lol

I didn't get to see this NS ad. I did get to see a UP ad a few years ago which was pretty cool, it's main feature was the Building America slogan.

Speaking of ads CSX has a new ad (sort of) on their new web site. I think it's pretty cool, they might of coped off of BNSF's idea though. CSX Delivering is their new approach. I'll jsut have to see how well this works.

Yes NS might be getting some truck traffic off the highways but that container still has to touch a truck on both ends.

I've seen it on a CBC News, a Canadian channel. NS runs into Ontario and Quebec but only a few train in total.

I've seen the NS commercial here in Montgomery Ala. Great add, very clever. UP also had a great add on their "Building America" commercials. When I was a kid, there were more railroads, and it seemed like they all advertised. My Granfather( a railroader) would see to it that I had a Pennsy, UP and Southern Pacific calendar each year. I'd love to see railroads advertise far more than they currently do. They do have a vital product to sell. In this regard, GE also does a pretty good plug for it's GEVO series locomotives. Have seen it on network TV several times. EMD? I know they've recently changed hands, but a tip to Greenbrier Corp. It pays to advertise.

"There is nothing in life that compares with running a locomotive at 80-plus mph with the windows open, the traction motors screaming, the air horns fighting the rush of incoming air to make any sound at all, automobiles on adjacent highways trying and failing to catch up with you, and the unmistakable presence of raw power. You ride with fear in the pit of your stomach knowing you do not really have control of this beast." - D.C. Battle [Trains 10/2002 issue, p74.]

Antonio, They muct be running it at least somewhat nation wide, as NS doesn't touch Wisconsin other than run through-power, and the add was running up here.

Yep, I've been seeing these commercials for a long time on CNN. If you want to download them go to www.norfolksouthern.com or www.nscorp.com and save them and view them with media player.

Saw the commercial on the NS website...it's pretty neat, though I still like the ones they put out in 2004 better.

...The NS trailer add moving from highway to parallel RR flat car is great and has been running here in central Indiana for some time....Bring on more...This is an add that makes sense and every one will understand what RR's can do....and everyone would like to see less congestion on our interstates.

Now that's creative!

I haven't seen it, though I guess that's due to me being in Florida ( CSX territory ). A commercial like that should be run "nationwide". Class 1 railroads could use all of the positive "PR" that they can get, nowadays. Many in the public still view railroads as an outdated mode transportation that's often being sued.

I saw it for the first time back near the beginning of the Katrina coverage. It is a very cute and clever commercial, and way better than some of their previous offerings. I almost started a topic about thisa couple of weeks ago.
