Norfolk Southern has 52 SD70M-2's on order for 4th quarter of this year....Externally, the SD70M-2 and the SD70ACe look the same....the only difference is, as mentioned above, the traction....DC vs AC....Visually, they look like a shortened SD80 or 90MAC in that the radiator flares do not extend all the way to the rear of the long hood like they do on the later SD70M's and SD70MACS.. The cab design is different than any SD made prior to it....even boxier Cab and nose. Dave Williams @ nsaltoonajohnstown@yahoogroups.com

FEC was testing them earlier I seen a pic that EMDX 76 was down in Flordia(8/30/05)

SD70M-2 is DC and SD70 ACe is AC. Also, CSX is just starting to test two SD70M-2 units.
