That would make a good addition to an indoor museum collection. The info on the e-bay site said the engine was used in classroom demonstrations. Anyone know which school the engine used to belong to?

Looks like the bid's up to $152.50 now.

Now the price is up to 66 bucks. It's interesrting that a Balwin prime mover is going for less right now than a Brigs and Straton (spelling) hydrulic log splitter. lol

There is a Baldwin switcher at a grain elevator near my town that hasn't moved for as long as I can remember. You might be able to pick up the whole thing for $67?[;)]

Baldwin engines had a reputation for being a high-maintenance design. I noticed that the package does not include a lot of spare parts.

Several years ago there was an article in the Trains magazine about CN or CP derailing a locomotive and taking it to a hospital to use for electrical power during a winter storm.

I bet there are many places that right now would LOVE to have that prime mover to help supply power to a small town or area where the electrical power is out due to Katrina.

Old Timer, man that is cold. [:0]

I think the high bidder right now is actually a forum member. If it is the one I am thinking of, I hope he gets it. [;)] [^]
