You also had the former ATSF line from Kibyville Tx to DeRidder LA in the Piney Woods that became shortline fodder with the BNSF Iowa Jcn to New Orleans acquisition.
Mudchicken Nothing is worth taking the risk of losing a life over. Come home tonight in the same condition that you left home this morning in. Safety begins with ME.... cinscocom-west

When the Southern Pacific merged into Union Pacific, UP had two lines from Houston to New Orleans, the former SP and the former Missouri Pacific. BNSF was given trackage rights from Houston to Iowa junction and purchased the SP the rest of the way to New Orleans (West Bridge Junction).

Which parts of Louisiana has the BNSF lines, I was surprised to hear that parts of the Southern Pacific lines in Louisiana are now owned by BNSF instead of UP cause most of the SP's lines are now owned by UP.
