Do ya think anybody but Dave and Mike Sol would miss it?

Shoot, skip the cab rides, if they take both of them with it!

I think we should revsit the question of giving Montana to Alberta in return for 1,000 free cab rides between Calgary and Kamloops.

Thanks for the update ED. Will be watching for it when it gets close to here.

Hummm,
Sounds like someone has realized that they are being had!
A Excel spread sheet, two years as a "staffer" and a little while toting a fire extinguisher, add some voodoo economics, an off world Montana wheat farmer in disguise as a consultant....and Ta Da, all the problems of railroading solved right here on Trains.com forum, by two world renowned phantoms...

And you guys though they were presenting hard facts...
About the only thing hard there are the heads!

I love how neither one of them will ever really answer any question that doesn’t support their theories...

Ed: That's still not as good as they had on the Milwaukee Road. Good thing I'm not a fast typer, or I'd write 14 paragraphs of fluff to *prove* it.[}:)]

Murphy Siding:
1. Depends on the time of day.
2. Depends on where in the forest the light bulb was originally located.
3. Depends on how fast the damaged light bulb could be replaced by a forum member.

If a light bulb goes out in a forest, is it still dark? Any "theories"?

When?

Oh, yeah....
Uhhh, nope, can’t remember a thing!

Hey, what if we started a thread based totally on an excel spread sheet program, 25 year old data, a little economic voodoo and a lot of evasive answers?

Oh, wait, that’s already been done...

Hey, wait a minute, sunlight as an option?

So, what you are saying is, if we expose the trolls to the sunlight, they will go away?

That’s way too simple, and if we employee the sunlight principle, we exclude the Montana globe blowers from their fair share of the bulb market.

Besides, we couldn’t get 306 replies on this thread if we actually posted anything that makes sense, nor could we enjoy the possibility of talking non stop to each other, and engage in self serving and personally gratifying verbiage about how we discovered the correct way of packing 10 lbs of crap into a 5 lbs bag, which no one else in the world even considers a possible or worthwhile endeavor.

I don't know how recently you ventured to the South, but we don't drink "soda". Usually it's tea, Coke, coffee or some other beverage with a name. But if you derive refreshment from words that describe sounds then obviously we haven't progressed as far intellectually as the North. [:p]

Oh, and the reason they call it an "Icebox" is because you put ice blocks in it to maintain the temperature. A refrigerator on the other hand has a compressor that, when operating thanks to electricity, maintains the temperature automatically so we don't spend all day loading ice blocks. Thus we have more time for other pursuits such as photographing trains and replacing light bulbs. [:D]

[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]
[:p][:p][:p][:p]Does that mean a refrigerator becomes an icebox when the power goes off??????

I have to say my favorite fallen bulb is nice and simple...FIRE!. (to denounce any confusion I'm not saying I like trolls who flame...I like the real fire that BURNS!)

[(-D]

maybe not candles but a fire perhaps . . .
"There is nothing in life that compares with running a locomotive at 80-plus mph with the windows open, the traction motors screaming, the air horns fighting the rush of incoming air to make any sound at all, automobiles on adjacent highways trying and failing to catch up with you, and the unmistakable presence of raw power. You ride with fear in the pit of your stomach knowing you do not really have control of this beast." - D.C. Battle [Trains 10/2002 issue, p74.]

Since we are now into a serious discussion that needs well thought out answers, I would ask this; Is it toMAHto or toMAAto.
This needs deep discussion.

Isn't it time we try to revive the coal tar lamps? Everyone knows they're more efficient than the new-fangled electric ones. Ask any old-timer.
