It's called "Operation Lifesaver". Millions are spent each and every year to educate the public about railroad crossings and train movements. Seems as though the information falls on deaf ears. The program has become part of safety policy of some utility companies. Before I retired, my former company participated with "Operation Lifesaver".

[:(!] I am getting sick and tired of people disregarding the crossing gates first a ice cream truck getting hit in Augusta,GA then the Amtrak then this I hope they do something about this in a couple of years or so.

While am very sorry for the loss to the family of the man whose died it just goes to prove that STOP, LOOK & LISTEN must be the keywords especially when crossing a unguarded grade crossings.

I'm guessing its on the BNSF......I see alot of NS(ex Conrail) units in IL on the BNSF.

Did you happen to get the # of the engine(s).
