Railways using UIC (European) standards extend from Great Britain and Norway to Damascus and Baghdad. At one time, they extended to Egypt as well. Further east, the Iranian railways connect with the former Soviet Railways in Turkistan, but these are not the same gauge. Russia and the former Soviet republics use 5 foot gauge. India and Pakistan use 5 ft. 6 in. and meter gauge.

Anyone know what kind of rail lines might run between India and Poland? Is there a way to run a train between India and any part of Europe?
