Just returned from a quick trip to the Phoenix area (very hot). Coming home I decided to see some country I had never seen before, so took US 191 from Safford to Springerville. It's called the "Coronado Trail " and sounded like a real interesting drive. Well, it was and then some. What I really found interesting was the fact that UP runs a branch line from Lordsburg, NM to Clifton, Ariz. This is real rugged country. Clifton and Morenci are the home of Phelps-Dodge Copper Mining operations, the second largest producer in the United States. My question is this - does anyone have information or details of this most interesting UP branch line from Lordsburg to Clifton? Paul
