Must be nice. The nearest BNSF line to me is over 1000 miles. Have fun.

QUOTE: I saw 3 new BNSF Heritage 3's westbound through Rochelle on Sunday, July 3. Beautiful sight to see in person for our first time.
Caught them on 35mm so I haven't developed it yet. I was so excited I didn't catch engine type or number!
But they looked GOOD in person!

Those engines were 7776,7777,and 7779.I saw them in Polo about 30 minutes west of Rochelle.

Ditto [V]. I live right near the Lisle train station.

Many will never see any scheme other that what they now wear...many olders units are being sold to FURX and other leasing companies, as we get new units.....

From what I heard, they're going to leave the older ones alone and just apply the H3 the the newer locos from now on.

They did a really good job with H3...not very different from H2 but the new logo and black really stand out.
Long live the BNSF .... AND its paint scheme. SchemerBob

I can't wait either but it will take awhile to paint all those engines.

I agree. I did hear that it was going to affect all of BNSF's locos and freight cars.

I can tell you that an SD40-2 that was wrecked somehow is having metal work done at Mid-America Car and it appears as if the H3 scheme will be applied to the finished engine. It is finished except the detail and emblem painting.

BNSF paint schemes

Is BNSF going to paint all their engines in H3 or just the comfort cabs. Maybe they might paint all of their regular cabs in H2 and get rid of H1? [:D] Anyway does someone have an answer.
Thanks
