Hello Robert, I was in the Norfolk area in 1985, and I saw the newer Chessie tugs "Chessie, and Seaboard". At that time they did not appear to be in use. But they were indeed, painted C&O blue, with yellow railings, etc. They had the Chessie cat symbol on their funnel. I can only assume that the earlier boats had the same scheme.
You might try to contact the mariners museum in Newport News for more info.

I have a Walthers HO Railroad Tug Boat that I want to paint up for the Chessie System. Walthers provides decals for number of railroad tugs, the Chessie System being one of them. The one I am planning to model is the M. I. Dunn. I have an article on them that is from an old Railfan & Railroad. (July 1984) My problem is that I cannot find any color pictures of them. Are they all C&O Blue with yellow trim? I would appreciate any info that any one can give.
Thank you for your time,
Robert
