Does anyone possibly know how long the ex. PRR H class consolidations on the Lorain, Ashland and Southern Railroad survived in use. I know they were in use around the 1920's but have been unable to find detailed motive power history on the railroad.

The LA&S H Class Locomotives that remained in service (#10,11,12,15,16,17) were scrapped in 1929, four years after the line was abandoned on Aug 1, 1925. They were dynamited at their final resting place--Gravel Pit Siding--and transported to a scrap dealer in Marietta, Ohio. Engine #1, an 0-6-0 switcher was listed for scrap in 1930, but no record of it being dismantled could be located. It may have been taken by the PRR for a few years, as was a small Browning crane-shovel the company owned.
Look for my new book on the LA&S to be released sometime in May 2004.
Best wishes.
