Shortly after 9/11, I was taking photos of the KCS, and my scanner went off. The engineer made reference to me over the radio, something along the lines of "We got a guy up ahead with a camera, do you think he's okay?" Luckily, the conductor recognized me and confirmed my legitimacy. Unfortunately, the railroads have to be increasingly vigilant to both trespassers and terrorists alike. As for the scanner issue, I haven't any information.

I read the other day that KCS was forbidding people to take pictures of there trains even from public property and also that a bill was being passed to outlaw scanners? Does anyone know whats up?
