HELP ME PLEASE!!!
Posted by CSXrules4eva on Sunday, June 5, 2005 2:21 PM
Ok I need some help understanding something about the SD80MACs. Fist I was told that Conrail had purchsed 30, then I heard 28, then 26. Which one is it?? I think it's 28 since that's what "they" said on my SD80MAC operator Familization video.
Another question, I was told that CSX took over all of Conrail's SD80MACs. Then I was told that CSX only has 13 and NS has the rest. Then I was told that CSX renumberd them all from Conrail's 4000 series to the 800. Then I was told that NS had renumberd some. I'm confused [%-)], someone tell me the truth. [:D]
LORD HELP US ALL TO BE ORIGINAL AND NOT CRISPY!!! please? Sarah J.M. Warner conductor CSX

Conrail did purchase 28 but they also received two demonstrators, which were built on the same order. 4127 was the last SD80MAC built. 4128 and 4129 were the demonstrators and were constructed in July 1995. 4100-4127 were built during 11/95-5/96.
