Per the Union Pacific Website, Global III is 843 acres, J. R. Davis Yard (LA) is 915 acres, and Bailey Yard (North Platte, NE) is 2850 acres.

It was reported in todays Kansas City Star that BNSFis in negotiations to build a new 800 acre or more intermodal yard in Gardner, KS that would replace the one at Argentine. My question is how does that compare in size to other intermodal yards like the Globals in Chicago or the ports in LA?
