I think he could have taken good enough pics from the cab, riding the running boards is a bad idea unless you have real buisness back there ( like taking a leak , sometimes the toilets are pretty scary) Alot of railroads today have rules about riding trailing units anyhow because of exhaust in the cab issues. Anywho, the strangest thing happened to me today. A Union Pacific train came by, 3 SD70M's, only the third engine had a guy on it. That guy was taking pictures of us, as we were taking pictures of him. When I get the photo's developped, I will post it here.
