Yes, there is a nice hotel/motel (I think it is a Best Western, or another similar middle of the road name) right next to the Aurora Transportaion center and it has an excellent view of the BNSF triple track main line coming out of Chicago before it splits into the C&I and Galesburg lines farther out on the line (about one mile farther). You will want to get a room in the back of the hotel so you can watch the main line action, which is about 150 feet from your window. Lots of trains every day, freight, Amtrak. You will not see the dinkies (commuters) much as they make Aurora their western terminus and that station is just about 200 feet to the East of the hotel, but you can walk there and watch the commuter action in about two minutes. Hope this helps you, good luck.

Can someone tell me of any hotels in the Chicago western suburbs where one can stay and have a good view of a busy line?

Thank you in advance.
