Does anyone know the fate of the old Union Pacific Railroad Building in Downtown Omaha? It's to my understanding that the City of Omaha want's to tear it down and so does the UPRR! I would hate to see this old Build go. Omaha.com has some photo slides(7) from present to past. http://www.omaha.com Click UPRR in the search box.
Then look for Slide show. BNSFrailfan.

I believe it's the city's building now, to do with what they wish. And the word is that bringing it up to marketable standards is prohibitively expensive. I think I read the word "implosion" mentioned in connection with the building--probably a lot of emotion on both sides when it goes.
