Posted by traingeek087 on Friday, April 1, 2005 2:38 PM
Anyone heard any new infromation on Galesburg Railroad Days? I've read that the city is giving 5000 dollars to the insurance policy, and that General Electric is putting on some sort of display that will be announced April 13th, but besides that has anyone heard anything?

From what Ive heard its gonna take alot more than 5000 bucks. All thats goin on so far is the train show at the college and the carnival is spossed to be back downtown this year. GE may have a display set up in a tent or maybe on the house track in front on the depot but i dont think the BNSF is gonna set things up like they did in years past. I sell stuff at the train show and attendance hasnt been as good since the BNSF pulled out and ive talked to a few guys that said they wont be back. Thats a shame because its such a nice place to have the show and its a good size show too. Time will tell.......
