Who dragged PAM into this?

I haven't seen one of the cars yet, but from what I understand, they're blue and gray, and retain their original reporting marks (e.g., MEC). It may be just a marketing thing--doesn't Pan-Am Railways sound a little catchier than Guilford Transportation Industries?
So far there has been nothing officially said about whether this will be a formal merger of the Guilford railroads, just a new marketing ploy, or what.

What about the middle corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, in preparation for departure, at this time we must ask that you discontinue use of all small fires and hypodermics, and and roll your straw in to the upright and locked position. Please ensure all cans are properly stowed in the overhead bins. If you are one of our Medallion members, we'll be handing out head of line passes good at any soup kitchen.

Prison boxcars! Nothing of the kind! Come on, they don't give you fresh straw every day in prison. These are first class compartments for hobos....er....I mean locationally challenged individuals. And the shackles, I mean safety restraints, are complementary. You don't have to wear them, except when the engineer turns on the rough track warning light.

In last Friday's newswire, they talk about the Guilford Pan Am boxcars:
http://www.trains.com/Content/Dynamic/Articles/000/000/005/827dykvc.asp

I find the last paragraph particularly amusing
QUOTE:
"Its boxcars are being painted in Pan Am colors despite the fact that Pan Am is not in operation right now," said John Perkinson, a spokesman for the Airline Pilots Association International. Guilford stopped Pan Am flights on October 31, 2004, after the union sued the company for transferring flights from unionized Pan Am to its non-unionized subsidiary, Boston-Maine Airways. A federal appeals court ruled in GuilfordĀ“s favor in February

It seems like Guilford is confusing airlines with railroads.
Maybe they could get the hobos to fly the Boston-Maine airplanes and the union pilots could ride in the Pan Am boxcars.[;)]
