That is an interesting new word.

The thread title is fourth, so I will answer that. It is a GE 70 tonner.

Just from the lettering it could possibly be Wisconsin Central SW1500. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=71787

Ok - I'll ask, too. What are the first 3 engines (railroad name) and (boy am I going out on a limb here) is the first one a GP38,39 or 40?

At least all the right letters were there...[tup]

I'll second the GE 70 Tonner - the flat roof on the cab is a tip-off.

If the name of the picture file is any indication, the first two engines might be Elgin, Joliet and Eastern. In fact, that's exactly what they are. 665 is an SD38.

The EJE fansite didn't list any GEs.

A pair of SD38-2 leading, followed by a SW15 or 12? and a GE switcher...the lead unit has a all weather window for the engineer, he can poke his head out and not get wet.
Good idea.
Wet engineers start to smell after a while!

I see a pair of SD38-2's, then an ex-MP SW1200, the fourth looks like one of the former North Lousiana & Gulf MP15's that were sold to CP. One of them showed up at Landers a few years ago.

Houston Ed straightened me out! Gotta remember to look at the feet! But I almost had the rest of it right.

We are getting there!

Where'd you get the picture?

There might be one of this engine from the same source (or maybe one of the green EJ&E switcher that would show the other switcher to better advantage).

I don't remember many 70-tonners with side handrails, but the cab profile looks too low to be an SW1000, SW1500, or MP15 (SW1001, perhaps?). The roof is too flat for any other EMD switcher; maybe even for these 645-engined units.

You might as well have asked about the car behind it!

There is the outside possibility the fourth engine is a custom build for a mill with limited overhead clearance...

Try to contact the photographer and ask him/her. They will most likely know.

Another small Illinois/Idiana railroad line. The Elgin Joliet and Eastern. My favorite.

Here are some 70 tonners with full handrails.

Definetly without a doubt, not a Wisconsin Central. First of all, WC SW1500's are not painted like that, its too small to be an SW1500, and lastly, all the remaining WC SW1500's are not allowed to leave the former WC tracks per CN. They are to stay until they "Blow".
