Only seen the "old" paint, we had one in the yard a few days ago...looks just different enough from the Dash series for you to notice it...
This one was awful clean too!

I hope you were kidding. The paint scheme shows neither the Burlington Northern nor the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe. At least CSX stands for something. NS stands for something. UP stands for something. BNSF now officially stands for nothing!! Burlington Northern Santa Fe, oh no... they want a "new"[xx(] logo and name. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO[censored][censored][banghead]

I was at Devore yesterday, (bottom of cajon pass before San Bernidino, California) and there was alot of traffic. It was saturday at around 6 and i forgot my camera. There was a Burlington Northern and Sant...oh no...BNSF freight north bound and it was a unit intermodel double stack and tofc train with 7 midunit helpers (including some dash-8s, a gp60mb no cab, and a little gp20)then if u didnt think that was enough, the rest of the train after the helpers was a unit tank train with some mixed lumber and box cars. Then at the end it had 2 sd45s in blue and yellow smoking hard. It was going sooooooo SLOW. I felt sorry for the cars at the crossing cause it was a long slowwww train, and then a little faster bnsf intermodel came down on track 2 while the first was finishing up, and a UP headed up as well after sitting on a siding for another UP coming down. IT WAS CRAZY!!!(up has 1 track and a siding after the crossing and bnsf has 2 tracks, so 3, used to be 4, in total with a little island for cars in the middle of the 3.) Well, thanks for listening, cant wait for that new paint coming, oh wait, yes i can!!!! See, ya, BEN

Folks, this isn't any different than S.S. Kresge renaming itself K mart, or the Esso to Exxon change. Or for that matter, well, how we got to CSX.

The proper name of the railroad operating company is "BNSF Railway". If it really, really bothers you, the name of the corporation remains "Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation"

I, personally, think this logo looks exactly like something the NFL would put on a helmet. The spirit of which, I think, is intended to apply. Yes, I like the older Heritage schemes better... but the purpose of the change is at least in part to convey a different attitude, and I think it does that quite well.

Not too bad a paint job, in fact it looks pretty good, but you guys who are waiting for locomotives to arrive with 1950's paint jobs , don't hold your breath. Overmod: glad you mentioned BNSF was a RAILWAY and not a railroad, it's one of a few railways in the U.S. and yes, there is a huge difference.

Just as a note: what I meant to say was that what's in the company logo is not just the letters "BNSF", it's the whole phrase "BNSF Railway". And to confirm that the corporation isn't forgetting what the letters mean...

Gee... and I always thought BNSF stood for Big New Santa Fe....
looks like the warbonnet and the cigar band have been scalped in favor of pumplins....

It looks OK until you flip it around to the side where the speed lettering is slanted the wrong way.

I don't know, I would love to see the agency fee for that design. Looks like it took about 10 minutes to think up. Though I know in reality, it probably took months of meetings and conference calls... and their was probably 100 versions.

It looks terrible in perspective, wich is usualy how you see trains. It mite look ok on a baseball hat or or on a shirt if that matters for a railroad logo.
