Are they the same length as a SD9043, they look bigger than a SD70M.

Looks like it is on the same frame as the SD90. Why I don't know the 70MAC's were not any longer than the SD70 was at all.

I think they look cool. Bulldoggish, kinda. Besides, it makes me happy to know that EMD does still make locomotives, even if they're not part of GM anymore! Long live EMD!

I think they look great! I'm glad to see new production of locomotives but that only means more are to bite the dust.

The pictures look good, but I want to see one coming by at 45 or 50 mph. They always look better when they're moving.

When did the deliveries start?

I like them, but the gray paint behind the cab looks disproportionate.

And, for ALL the uglyites: Didn’t the GP-7/9 designers deliberately make them ugly? But, everybody loved them!

I don't think they "tried" to make them ugly. It was more a form follows function sort of thing. Unlike earlier locomotives, their job was solely to be as efficient as possible. It really didn't matter what the public thought of them.

Come to think of it, I usually hate things designed to look good. Most streamlined steam (with a few notable exceptions), UP's M-10001, GM's aerotrain, and pretty much anything European. Yup...hate em' all.

When GM sold EMD,the new owners had to sign a form stating that they would only build ugly diesels[xx(].
