Hi Jim, it looks like that you have some knowledge about railroads in or around NYC. Be so kind and look to my topic with questiones to railpossibilities in or around NYC.

Metro North FL-9 units

Trains magazine, in their recent article, stated that the Metro North FL-9 units were all but gone and only a few were being kept on as protection power and that normally the new Genesis units were on the trains. Well, I recently returned from New York where I had a chance to travel to the northern most terminus of the Harlem Line. I saw three trains between Brewster and Winisik (sp?) and all three had back-to-back FL-9's with either two or three coaches. Looks to me like the FL-9 is alive and well on Metro North. Oh, by the way, all six of these units looked and sounded great to me (gave me a good feeling as I grew up with these units since the 1950's when they were new and rode behind them into Grand Central in the 1970's, I am now living in Chicago metro area).
