Try this: www.broadcasting-history.ca/news/american.html the reason this was done and also all the words to the "song" He was mad at Canadians and the rest of the world for not assisting the U.S. in times of crisis, even though the U.S. is usually the first to assist any crisis.

It was called "The Americans", and I *think* it was written by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian radio news reporter, in the early 70s. In 1974 both the Gordon Sinclair original, a cover by Byron McGregor, and at least one other cover (by a Country & Western artist) were released as singles. I don't know if they are on CD compilations today.
Try a Google search and you should get the words. (The Pennsylvania and New York Central are mentioned -- not Penn Central).

Railroad? Song

Hi All,
I am trying to find the title and /or artist of a song ( words with music in the backround, not really singing ) that is about America as viewed by a Canadian. The only lyric I can remember goes something like this "when their railroads were in trouble no one would even lend them an old caboose". I also saw this song printed as a letter in a newspaper many years ago.
Any help will be very appreciated!
Thank You
Michael
