yes, they show if the door is open or not. when i was riding the Chief, the lights were yellow when a door was open and green when it was closed.

I have seen these types of lights on various passenger cars.

...Pic size was no problem....It came right up...even with my dial up. And the full size pic was nice and sharp.

I believe that they show if the door is open or shut, because the train can't highball until the conductor sees all green lights. Pretty sure on this one.

If I recall they provide info on status of the brakes.

Ok, on the side of the superliner cars (Im not sure about other cars) there are little lights that i have seen as red yeallow and green, what are they for and what do they mean? sorry about the pic size...
