To Junctionfans question the driver was doing less than he should have been doing. A similar accident befell the lone SP RDC when it was operating on the Northwestern Pacific that is why the car was rebuilt to a single ended RDC.

A loaded logging truck would be a really powerful modern day battering ram equivalent. Poor train never had a chance. I am particularly impressed that it managed to derail the entire train though but thank God no serious injuries.

What I would like to know is what was the truck driver doing?

that is good that nobody got hurt on that, I bet that must have been a scary sight for the engineer, seing aloaded logging truck is pretty heavy, so that isn't a surprise that it knocked if off the rails. Does Via have enough extra cars to be able to handle this, or will this screw them up.
