ImgBox was a lot easier.

So I was not aware that the new DART Silver Line would be running on the former KCS (now CPKC) entry into Dallas in part.   It joints the CPKC line in Plano using the former Southern Pacific Spur (ex-H&TC), that now serves as an industrial lead but is the relocated former Southern Pacific that ran from Dennison,TX to Galveston, TX      I believe it will share tracks with CPKC just to access the new rail station below but they have an option to build west to Wylie, TX and share the tracks between Wylie and Plano, TX.    DART Silver Line will be using the Stadler DMU's.    The new crossing signal silver relay box is stenciled DART Silver Line Railroad, so I am guessing they are in charge of the signaling now vs CPKC, thats if CPKC still uses this line or if it was bought outright........beats me but this is how CPKC used to enter Plano and connect with the tracks to Alliance Yard.

So here we go.......

Stacks and stacks of concrete ties.

Bridge in background is Dart Red Line to Plano (Parker Road Station).   Note the new signal masts, the DART line diverges to the left and runs along but partially under the DART Red line bridge in background.   This is also a shared industrial lead with CPKC and was in place before this recent construction.   The RR Crossing I am standing next too (Avenue K) is a one way street so it does not have the concrete median for quad four gates.

Another view West of Avenue K, the line diverging on left in the DART Silver Line and former relocated SP mainline remnant into Dallas from Dennison (ex-H&TC) that now serves as a CPKC industrial lead but also now going to be used as a Silver Line shortcut to another DART rail station South of Plano.    Line on right is CPKC mainline into Plano, intermodal yard and their rail connection to the former AT&SF Alliance trackage to Fort Worth, TX.

New rail station to the East of Avenue K looking towards Wylie, TX along the CPKC and DART Silver Line joint track    The DART Silver line is kind of like an express train serving DFW Airport that arcs from NE to SW across Dallas suburbs to the airport.    It uses the right of way of a former Cotton Belt line.

My spell checker, keeping an eye on my typing.

I want to take some cell phone pics to post.   What is the preferred free photo hosting website these days???

Right now, I prefer Imgur.  It's free and easy to use.

Concrete median is cheaper than extra/larger/overlapping four quadrant gates.

The QZ zone field evaluation committee made the decision on the median curbing. (really ought to be 36" tall concrete k-rail wall if anything)

IMHO:The only "dumb" thing is the allowance of QZ's in the first place.

In light of the Brightline mess, the locals and the media need to be reminded that QZ status can be revoked. (which has happened)

CPKC Upgrades in Dallas

Interesting CPKC is getting some free track upgrades in Dallas, specifically Plano with the new DART Silver Line.    New CTC going in, quad four RR crossing signals (with the dumb median at the RR crossing), new no train horn zones, extra tracks, concrete ties, etc.    I want to take some cell phone pics to post.   What is the preferred free photo hosting website these days???

Looks pretty decent.
