Dave Klepper asked the question in a concurrently running Threrad, re: 'The Zipper'.
It was in reference to some older postings by other Forum posters; I did not remember it, but using the Community Search option, I found another referenced Thread. (see linked tem)
It remindedme of some times past, and one of the reasons I had found this Forum to be both interesting and facinating. DISCUSSUIONS !
The topic was an involved discussion of the Whats,Whys, and Wherefores of Peoria,Il. Whart had taken place, in, and around that area of Illinois. It was full of little known facts, actions and reasons about railroading in that area. The posters form a group of long, gone individuals; who were about the history of Central Ill., and its railroads.
It was pretty interesting reading for the holiday.

The Thread was 'Abandoned Peoria'.... THANKS, MUDCHICKEN, FOR Your Help!
I thought I had 'javascript', and other stuff working for me.... Now all I need is for 'Spell Czech' to quit working against me....
The Zipper file is available, but only has comments, not the talking dog story itself. I cannot currently distribute it, nbecause it uius as printed Trains article, and I do not wish bto violate the copyright.
October, 2017 article.
I thought it failed ...the link would not light up.
Downtown Peoria is evolving and the railroad lines coming down the west side of the Illinois River are greatly changed with the BNSF (CB&Q) and UP(CNW/M&StL) footprint pretty much disappearing, especially the yards and industrial drill tracks. IAIS and I&M are there now running in unsignalled yard limits.
Resumption of passenger service is still in the pipedream planning stages with money still being thrown at it.
The options of going straight west out of downtown to anywhere are gone. (CRIP or CB&Q lines are largely abandoned)
