Elmwood park illinois grade crossing accident anniversary

Today is the eighteen year aniversey of the grade corssing accident in Elmwood Park,IL. For those who don't know a Metra train bound for Antioich hit six cars at the Grand Avenue grade crossing in Elwoood park. By some mericle no one was killed but there were allot of injuries. In addition to the moterists that were injured several passengers and the engineer were injured. How do you all think the Engineer and the passengeres got injured? And is it common after accidents involving vehicles or pedesterians that the crews goes to the hospital? Thanks

Any sudden change in speed is going to be a problem.

Speed is not the killer.  Sudden stops are.

Exactly.  It's not the fall, it's the sudden stop at the bottom.
