So CP made WisDOT change their plans on the trackwork.
It looks like now the new two track mainline headed through Muskego yard will branch off prior to CUT-OFF tower, additionally they will remain two tracks after rejoining the current double track main South of the Amtrak depot for it looks like two city blocks and that is where it will be four tracks all CTC signalled..........pretty cool. They are going to need at least one signal bridge for that, if not more. Should make for some interesting new photo ops.
TRAINS Magazine staff should get excited about it being so close to their office.
Anyways, I think they need more money from the state for this I think.....not sure. My guess is they lengthened it to accomodate longer trains better.
