McAdam was a major junction and division point when CP owned all the lines to St. John, NB.
It was some of the prime territory for the 4-4-4 Jubilees.

Here is a video that shows the station as well as McAdam Junction in the background. The yard was in the middle of a large wye with the main continuing to St. John and the branch heading south by southeast to St. Andrew.

Those Canadians are too neat. Some of those scenes looked like model RR layouts.

McAdam was a beehive of activity back in the 70s when CP still had network of branch lines in NB..CP seemed to relegate its oldest power to this part of their system which made for interesting railfanning..
Nice to see that CP and NB Southern Rail are breathing life back into railroading in the Maritimes.
