In "N" scale, it would be a whole 15 inches - and that's without any adjustment for "smiles..."

It just occurred to me.  This would've made a great "Railroad you can model" over on the Model Railroader side for the April issue.  You wouldn't have had to use selective compression to model the entire main line.
