help figuring out what something is!

but can't find a way to upload it! there is a low piece of metal, like 1-2 feet high  from it a green hose comes out horizontally about 2 feet them connects down into the  cement.  they are every 5 feet or so all along the  track at the railyard.  just curious what it might be for!! thanks!!

Upload the picture to a site that allows you to upload pictures from your device.  Trains Forums don't allow this, however, you can use the link ID where you posted you picture to have it display in the Trains forums, using the 'picture' icon in the posting view.

Track scale matches for me -- perhaps one of the usual suspects can post an image of this type of track scale and the OP can decide whether it's what was seen.
