It doesn't really matter to me. I probably won't ever see a BNSF unit unless I travel out west. But I don't like the lettering they used on the older scheme.
It looked like typwriter font.[:o)]

On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst), the old scheme was about a 3 for the Heritage I, and about a 1 for the Heritage II, the new one is about a -5. I didn't think they could do anything worse, I gues I was wrong.

Sorry if I offened any BNSF fans who like it, it's just my "messed up view on life".
I love the smell of ALCo smoke in the Morning. "Long live the 251!!!" I miss the GBW and my favorite uncle is Uncle Pete. Uncle Pete eats Space Noodles for breakfast.

Do they have the new logos on any locomotives/rolling stock yet? or is it still all on paper?

Next thing you know they will have YOUR SPONSOR HERE on the trains. With the short coming of sponsors on the locos.

I myself prefer the old logo over the new logo, I also miss the Burlington Northern logos as well as the Santa Fe logos.

After all, we are talking about a company which has been around for just under 10 yrs. The colors on the equipment, logos, slogans don't mean jack to me--just make sure the paychecks arrive on time twice a month. This is what its all about.
I agree with on that. As long as there is a steady flow of money coming in the house,Who realy cares!

Whoa, a radical change, indeed... I kinda liked the old green/white design - found it classy. The new one signals someting that's hurried and off-target. The line makes you wonder what that has to do with a railroad... Not sure I like the orange color, either... to me it symbolizes a company that is in over its head... also, I think the orange color is off-base for a large portion of BN's traditional area of operation, the North...

Not impressed, another boring logo with no character. I think it looks like the sign at a Used Car lot!

   Have fun with your trains

Yuk, the line under the BNSF plays havoc with the perspective in photos of the new units. A real mess I would say!

Hopefully they might change it, remember when CN came up with the North American continent in grey behind their logo on units? (I like the noodle itself unchanged) It looked like peeling paint and they did quickly stop applying it, but you still might see a few around.

Mookie:
Read the list of "stakeholders" listed near the beginning of the BNSF annual report, as well as within their corporate mission statement. They are willing to listen and consider any reasonable, rational, and civil opinion that is properly sent their way.
There is, of course, absolutely no guarantee whatsoever that such opinions will sway them to change their minds; however, I will absolutely guarantee that if dissenting opinions ARE NOT presented to them, then they would certainly not have any reasons to change their decision. The key here is not just to be a squeaky wheel, but to be a civil, rational, respectful, and thoughtfully persuasive squeaky wheel. Point taken?

Sincerely, Ross R. Moore, Jr.

this is a very good idea. Respectful commentary to the people who make the decisions.

I think this was very useful. I repeated my comment about the wedge, that it reminded me of a rerailing frog, and suggested the old Sante Fe oval and cross. I had some good comments about other things they are doing to provide balance.

It's like other business and their marketing strategies; they don't have the same commercial over and over again, they use several so the more paint schemes you have, the better. Well maybe it is a little different than that but you kind of get what I'm saying.

Very nice BNSF!

Mabey thats one of the reasons that it was changed, I mean on the side of most locos the public sees "BNSF" they never take a look at the small logo that was on the front of some locos that spelled it out

I'm reprinting this from another thread to serve as a useful guideline:

O.K. folks, for a limited period of time you do all have an opportunity to register your RESPECTFUL opinions with BNSF management about the new image and logo, and hopefully change their minds. There is an E-Mail link within the BNSF website sitemap. Also, every BNSF exec is reachable with an E-mail address that has their first name, followed with a dot, followed by their last name@BNSF.com (Example: Matthew.Rose@BNSF.com).

Just remember to:

1. Keep everything in a respectful and reasonable tone, and with proper spelling and grammar.
2. Preface your comments with the fact that you are a long-time supporter and admirer of BNSF's outstanding management and extraordinarily well-run railway, and that you've had many friends and relatives who've worked for BNSF and their predecessor railways over the years.
3. State in a reasonable and respectful manner just why you dislike the new image and logo, and why you feel that it is not as representative of BNSF's true image and customer service reputation as is your preferred previous image(s) and logo(s). Try to include any and all well-known business references that you can, such as Forbes magazine's well-known survey from about 15 years ago that found the old Warbonnet image and cross-and-circle logo to be the fifth most widely recognized and respected image and logo in American corporate history.

Good luck, folks. Just remember to keep a respectful and reasonable tone about any and all communications with BNSF management.

Sincerely, Ross R. Moore, Jr.

I hate to say it, but most of the general public doesn't care what BNSF means or meant, all they want is for the train to get out of their way.

I think that the old logo is better. It gives it a more old school feeling rather than the new modern one.

I suggested they make the speed lettering appear front to rear on each respective side of the locomotives. Indicating to the public and shareholders a forward moving, progressive company.

Better yet, it is sometime a good idea to have a current name to be familular enough to have a good reputation with a comfortable look in its name. But I digress, I'm Southern and we think that way, I'm sure that your new logo and name are fine for the folks that know you and use your fine railroad(way).
