EuclidI sometimes get the blue "Sorry" message when trying to open the forum, but only with the exception of the two threads mentioned above, have I ever seen a an individual thread refuse to open unless it had been locked.
I will say that they seem to have fixed the issue with the jump-up ads occupying the whole bottom half of a phone screen.
Still waiting for 'phase three' to commence with respect to the forum code. (You can stop laughing in a decent amount of time.)

Clicking on those threads, probably out of curiosity to see what everyone's talking about, most likely counts as a "View."
For whatever the reasons - the viewing count on the threads in question are incrementing - however, not on a direct access basis.

I was getting the "too many redirects" for the whole trains.com site last night, nt having that now.
Still getting the "Sorry, there was a problem with your last request!" error message followed by some explanatory text. For the "Ballast" thread, the header is showing "68 replies, 4475 views". This looks like a problem with the database handling the threads.
Site became 'unavailable' again for Trains, MR, and Classic Trains until right around 1:10am Eastern. Whatever that was for, it didn't fix the broken threads.
I am not seeing any kind of error message when selecting one of the three threads; it just shows a blank page under the thread title. The Kenosha Streetcar thread did this first; the ballast and Phillips thread hours later.
I notice that viewing any site on a PC running Chrome, I have seen no advertising for some time...
As of 10 minutes ago, I can't get the "forums" selection page to load; it just kicks a 'too many redirects' notice that I couldn't solve by deleting the usual cookies.
Just tried the ballast and Phillips threads. Both come up with an error message where the posts of thread show up. Website problem, not a browser problem.

We're waiting for the end of their school term when the projects get graded to send the actual patch code to Waukesha. Hopefully not like the team of outsourced Bangalore bungineers that took down Yahoo Groups...

We should be honored that both the Russians and the Chinese have had people following these forums, at least from time to time.
Wonder if their hacking skills include fixing some of the 'issues' with the codebase, particularly the obsolescent back-end tracking and 'monetization' code that causes the 'taligent' errors, and the locking up when malformed ads fail and fail and fail to load or run?
Yesterday had a post get split-off and disappeared from a thread only to be part of a new thread with only 2 posts on it and then that one disappeared, for good. (you-tube PSR video diatribe fiasco thread)

I had the 'Kenosha Streetcar' become inaccessible just before I drove down to Charleston. Does exactly the same thing the two you mention do: the header blows up to a larger size on my monitors and nothing loads underneath. My computer mouse/trackpad drivers have completely disappeared at the same time...
